The 300-acre Sand Creek Industrial Superfund site is in Denver and Commerce City, Colorado. An oil refinery, a pesticide manufacturing facility, an herbicide chemical plant and a landfill contributed to contamination of soil and groundwater. EPA added the site to the National Priorities List (NPL) in 1983. More
